Written: January 30, 1821

I Kader Knight of Jones County and State of North Carolina seriously considering the uncertainty of human life at best more particulary of my own in my presant declining state of life do while in form state of mind and sound resolution make and ordain this my last will and testament. Intending hereby to dispose of my worldly affairs not as __ may promp but as justice and equity may seem to direct.

Item First of all I most humbly recommend my soul to the extensive memory of that allwise supreme intelligent being who gave it me most earnistly at the same time deprecating his justice.

2 Item my will and desire is that all my just debts and necessary expenses be paid and satisfied by my Exors.

2 Item I gave and bequeath to my beloved wife Catherine the manner house and plantation where on I now live including all the lands I own on both sides of mill creek together with the lands where on Samuel Knight now lives soposed to contain all to gether 575 acres during her natural life also all my stock of horses cattle & hogs & together with all my house firniture plantation tools &c &c during her life and at the death of my said wife my will and desire is that all the before mentioned land shold be equally divided between my three youngest children Tamer, Easter & John share & share alike to them their heirs and assigns for ever also all the above mention stock after the death of my wife shold there be any left my will and desire is that it shold be equally divided between my before mentioned children Tamer, Easter & John to them their heirs and assigns forever.

Item I give & bequeath to my son Joseph Knight one shilling sterling having advance him all ready in life to him his heirs.

Item I gave & bequeath to my daughter Mary one shilling sterling to her her heirs and assigns for ever.

Item I give & bequeath to my son Samuel one shilling sterling him his heirs and assigns for ever. Item I give & bequeath to my son Kader one shilling sterling to him his heirs and assigns for ever.

Lastly I nominate and appoint my beloved wife Caterine my only executor to this my last will and testament here by revoking and annulling all former will by me made acknowledging this as my last will and testament in witness where of I have here unto set my hand & seal this 30th day of January 1821 in presants of

Then was the within last will and testament of Kader Knight Senr produced and proved in due form of law by the oath of Enoch Foy one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. At the same time Katherine Knight the executrix therein named qualified as such agreeable to law and that letters testamentary issue accordingly.
