EDWARDS and Martha his wife of the county of Greene and state of North Carolina of the first part and Edward R. COWARD and Alfred S. DARDEN of the same state and county of the other part witnesseth that the said EDWARDS and Martha his wife have for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and forty eight dollars then in hand paid by the said COWARD and DARDEN at and before the Execution of this Indenture the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge have bargain sold aliened ensealed and conveyed and by these presents do bargain sell alien enseall and convey unto the said Edw. R. COWARD and A. S. DARDEN their heirs and assign a certain tract of land lying and being in the county aforesaid adjoining the lands of Richard ALLEN and Wm. P.
