Edwin Taylor is recorded in the Taylor Booklet and the Croom
Book, he is recorded in his will of Sept. 3, 1874-Sept. 25,
1876 of Lenoir County. He is the only child of William
Taylor and Catherine Davis to remain in North Carolina, the
others moving to Covington County, Alabama.

NANCY JARMON. He was born September 15, 1802 in Lenoir
County North Carolina, and died September 22, 1872 in
Crawfordville, Wakulla County, Florida.

County, Fla. Census; Thomas and Catherine and all children
up through John Knott were in Pulaski County, Ga. in

Notes for EDWARD [EDWIN]
WHALEY:
Edwin served in the Civil War as a Private, Co. A, 1st
Florida Infantry. He contracted a case of mumps in the State
of Mississippi; ordered to hospital; sent home on account of
disability as a result of mumps. Since he did not get proper
medical attention, he lost sense of hearing in left ear
entirely and a portion of tune in his right ear. He was on
the 1870; 1880 Wakulla County, Florida Census.
Edwin is buried in the Whaley Cemetery, Crawfordville,
Wakulla County, Florida.
Notes for SARAH M.N.E. [SALLY] COX:
Sarah was on the 1860 Wakulla County, Fla. Census age 13,
living with John Pervis Family. She was on the 1920 Wakulla
County, Fla. Census age 70, living with son, Eddie T. Whaley
and his family. She has a gravemarker at the Whaley
Cemetery, Crawfordville, Wakulla Co., Ga. but no for sure
she is buried with Edward, no death date on stone.
Florida Death Index [microfiche at FHC], indicates
death near 1930; name is Sallie Whayley.

Notes for WILLIAM [W] KENYON
BAKER:
William at the age of 16 served in the Confederate Army,
where he served briefly. After his return, he courted Liza,
his future wife and after their marriage, he went in debt
and bought over 500 acres, 5 miles east of Kinston, NC.
[Southwood]. Part of this land was granted to the
Loftin family by the English crown and is the same land and
the family cemetery is located. Info by Clarence Lee Baker
and Mary Baker Amyette on page 141 of the Lenoir County
Heritage Book.
